The Student & Community Engagement office offers students, alumni, and community members help with resume and cover letter development and critique. Since the typical employer may only look at your resume for 6 seconds, you will want to make sure that your resume stands out from the rest. Stop by Building 8, Room 8-025 or call 937-512-2509 to learn how our office can best assist you with your resume and cover letter!

Preparing Your Resume

If you want your resume or cover letter critiqued:

The Student & Community Engagement office will be happy to critique it. There are 3 options:

  1. Make an appointment to sit down with a staff member for a personalized review (recommended).
  2. Drop it off at the front desk for a staff member to review (allow 2 business days turnaround time).
  3. Email your resume to: studentandcommunity@sinclair.edu. Please allow 2 business days for a response.

Most people seem to benefit more from a personalized meeting with a staff member as opposed to an email review due to the exchange of information that takes place during an appointment. However, if you live far away or cannot make it to campus during normal business hours, we recommend e-mailing your resume to us or arranging a phone appointment.

If you need to create a resume or cover letter:

Our staff will provide you with information on how to create one utilizing best practices and will review it for you as many times as you would like.
